Why not spend the 750 billion dollars paying off the bad mortgages?

Wouldn't that go a lot further toward stimulating the economy? Let the big investment firms go under just like their greed made a lot of small businesses go under.Why not spend the 750 billion dollars paying off the bad mortgages?

750 billion dollar is really going to be loan made to banks. Which should come back with interest on top, if all goes well. Now you're talking about just straight give away of tax dollars, worth 750 billion. Some big investment firms were allowed to go under. Like Lehman Bros. But there are firms that can cause mamoth chain reactions.
obviously the government is interested in making these companies whole, I don't think the whole process was thought out very well - people acted very quickly on fear, now they need to re-direct their thinking....
Why not you all get re - educated and join in all the fun, instead of sitting around like robots and having some retard tell you you should get paid more or what a robot can do!!!!

Why not take money from people who sold their houses between 2002 and 2007, and give it to the people who bought houses that really weren't worth the asking price?

Why should I pay YOUR bad mortgage? I bought a house I could afford in a fixed rate. Not my dream house, but I sleep well at night.
Because its already been spent paying off people who sold out of the stock markets.
Why not give it to us responsible people who didn't borrow money we couldn't pay back?
